Song of the Morning Hosts Run
Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat Center established in 1970 is hosting its first annual marathon. The 800 acres of prized land, situated within the Pigeon River Forest, is known for its beauty, energy, and rich yoga heritage. In the late 1800's logging companies damned up the Pigeon River where Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat Center has operated since 1970. The Golden Lotus Board, which runs the retreat, is raising funds with plans to remove the dam and create a “hemi-marsh” that will provide a natural habitat for area wildlife, including Trumpeter Swans and American Bald Eagles.
